Your warranty claim with Cuisinart may cost you more than original price of the product

This is my Cuisinart Sucks story:: Coffee maker quit after only three months. Called Cuisinart. Representative said that it had a limited waranty that I would have to pay $10.00 to send it back $10.00 to replace it plus I had to send the old one back to them at my expense of course. No way. I will never buy another Cuisinart product again nor will my daughter.

The first Cuisinart CBC-00 coffee maker I had lasted about three years before it started leaking water all over the kitchen countertop. I bought a replacement coffee maker of the same model and this one lasted less than 23 months before quitting. As it was still under warranty and I had saved the receipt I called Cuisinart customer service to find out that I would have to pay $10.00 to replace it and another $10.00 to send the old coffee maker back. I refused and told the representative that I would be looking for a different brand.

I had a blender burn out 8 months ago -- it was still within the 3 yr warranty so they replaced it (after I paid $20 to ship it back) with a brand new one. Now, the new one did the same thing so I called the warranty dept again. Turns out the replacement I got last year doesn't get a new 3 yr warranty -- the old one carries over and I have only 30 days left on my original warranty. So I elected not to pay to have it replaced and end up with a blender w/o a warranty. Makes no sense whatsoever.
